Re: X-ray SJ 732 spinning or baitcast

Once you've decided the rods intended purpose, it doesn't matter. As long as you have a casting reel that will execute. Any Daiwa SV reel will handle the lighter stuff well, some better than others.

Re: Megabass Vision 95

I know the oneten Jr. exhibits the attributes you describe, except it rises and has a moving weight so you still get good distance. I wouldn't reach for it over the original unless I just couldn't get a bite otherwise. If you've never fished a oneten, get a oneten. I'm planning on grabbing a few mo...

Re: Megabass Vision 95

Its been a while since I fished them but I remember they do run a bit more shallow (maybe around 3' or a little deeper) and do not have as an erratic side to side action. Also, they are silent and have a fixed weight so it is more subtle. If I am able to wet a line this weekend I will try to rememb...

Re: NFC pricing

So I had posted earlier about receiving a broken blank from NFC and wanted to follow up. I contacted Scarlett at NFC and have received a new blank. The replacement was done in a timely manner and I am very pleased with their response. On the other side while the tubes they ship in seem to be of sol...

Megabass Vision 95

What can you tell me about this bait? Same action and behavior as the 110, or totally different? Does it run more shallow? When would you reach for it over the 110? Any information on the other various 110 lures is also welcome. I'm looking to place an order soon, and believe it or not, I've never f...

Re: Completed my first Point Blank build...

You know it when you feel it. It's somewhat difficult to describe a Point Blank until you've fished with it. I'm glad you weren't disappointed. How about some pics?

Re: Break offs

Say goodbye to fluoro. Biggest garbage sales pitch in fishing IMO. 100% agree. No way can anything in crystal form be flexible. Same principle with soft plastics that are loaded with salt. That's why those baits damage so easily. On the other side of the spectrum, I've hung up with 15# CXX and coul...

Re: Break offs

With fluoro, you really have to be careful when getting out those backlashes. Take time to find each little loop that is holding down the line. Don't pull too hard against a tangle because fluorocarbon gets damaged when it rubs itself. Sometimes I even spit on the spool out of sheer rage and it hel...

Re: Break offs

I've been using Tatsu and Assassin exclusively for 3 years now. No problems other than abrasion issues after a big fish has been digging in the rocks. I'm the opposite, I can't do braid any more. Used it exclusively for several years, now I hate the stuff. I don't use the two fluoros I mentioned in ...

Re: MajorCraft Speedstyle 610+MH?

I’m no familiar witht the PTS reel seat. Looking at it, it looks just like am ECS seat or am I missing something? It's different - wider, not as comfortable for smallish hands. Just my opinion of course ^What Mark said^. I sold the Speedstyle rod I had specifically because of the reel seat. I like ...

Re: Daiwa Kage

New here, but good info on these rods - Supposedly, they are only available through independent bait & tackle shops. No Scheels, Bass Pro, Cabelas, etc & no online sales with them either - don't know the validity of that. Big features though, the Graphite Composition is of the SVF Technolog...
