I was excited after hearing Justin Poe was working with fenwick and the more recent Fenwick Elite's looked pretty good, but can't say I'm satisfied with this update. I've always felt that Phenix offers some of the best budget blanks in the rod business.

I don't know about the heavier blanks, but the mediums and medium lights I own are superb.

Heads up, they have relisted new actual rod weights. They aren't as light as originally advertised. Another member described his as feeling tip heavy.

It does look similar, but the action is quite a bit different. The Duo runs tighter, with more resistance.

Is $295 the correct price? I saw icast had released a link to all announounced items so far and it has the new Epitome showing an msrp of $495. Let's certainly hope so! Though I'll likely purchase one either way. If these blanks are truly an improvement over the original X Rays, it should be rather...
