Re: Daiwa Steez 21 74MH+ Topgun
Cranky this is awesome thank you! To be honest I’ve drifted away from AGS guides I love their capabilities but have been unlucky with more guides broken on my Steez AGS more so than others. I actually own the Racing Design Jigga stick but have kept it on the shelf with my prized reel. This informati...

Daiwa Steez 21 74MH+ Topgun
Hey TT, Looking to snag a new steez, and had my eye on this one. Looking for a jig rod mainly 1/2 oz but in a pinch will jump to 3/4oz. I see this has a Mod-Fast taper but wanted to get some thoughts on if this rod could double up for a bottom contact jig rod. Look forward to hearing the TT JDM wisd...

Jumping this post back up...
Do you think the 72H can legitimately handle a 3 oz swimbait, the ratings for this rod per Tackle Trap have this up to 4 oz.
Thanks for the input everyone so far these rods looked to be overlooked!!

Re: TD-ito Project
Thanks Everyone! little update I obtained a ito engineering handle. So I believe that was the hard part and of course I'll keep the knobs on the handle no way would those change.

TD-ito Project
Hello TT, This may not be the right location for this, but I have a little TD-ito 103M project going. I believe an addition of a carbon ito engineering handle (still working on obtaining one of these difficult) would be ideal but beyond that really looking for some great ideas to dress up this class...

Re: Reel for Evo Mephisto?
The master has spoken! I prefer zillion variants and am glad you have confirmed my gut thanks everyone! Definitely leaning toward a IS but I actually prefer small bait casters to that of monoblocks...The IP79 is interesting but weight has me worried, to the gentlemen with the monoblocks how does a 7...

Re: Reel for Evo Mephisto?
In my experience, a 7+ oz. reel gives the rod a more neutral/tip up feel than lighter ones which depending the technique could help in sensitivity. I am definitely gonna use this rod for bottom contact more so than anything but will double up as chatterbait and swimjig rod as well would you still r...

Reel for Evo Mephisto?
I went ahead and got a little crazy and with a little convincing from my brother I purchased a Megabass Evoluzion Mephisto to go along with my recently acquired AM71 X7 and am looking for that reel that would go perfectly...I am leaning toward another Mentanium 13 HG or XG due to it being relatively...

Re: X7 Aaron Marten's 71 Vs EVO Mephisto
Here is the AM71 with the Mentanium XG...needless to say very pleased with the rod...Unfortunately only had two bites and caught two fish but overall review is the sensitivity is a little less than an 893NRX so very sensitive...The power of the rod is deceiving and has that it factor when you set th...

Re: X7 Aaron Marten's 71 Vs EVO Mephisto
Good choice on the X7 AM because i have both as well as the Black Gunner. The Mephisto as stated has a more moderate tip than you would like for a jig rod. The X7 AM is a great choice for the deep water dragging, but the Black Gunner will be better for flipping jigs (stiffer tip). Another rod i hav...

Re: X7 Aaron Marten's 71 Vs EVO Mephisto
Thanks alot guys...the choice was hard but just had to play it safe and go with the AM 71...Knowing I really wanted something a little stiffer for close combat light duty flipping from your guys input and Love2Grabbass the choice became clear...It will be paired up with a Shimano Mentanium XG and wi...
