ShimanoFan's comment that Shimano outsells Daiwa 1000 to 1 has to be the craziest thing I have ever seen on Tackle Tour.

Shimano SLX XT

Shimano Australia has a new SLX XT casting reel. It looks similar to the new MGL but without the MGL spool. Shimano fanboy REELTEST bought one . He thinks it would kill off the Tatula if it comes to the US. :roll:

I bought a SLX. Have not fished it yet due to frozen lakes. The reel feels smooth. It fits my hand better than my Citica I. Not a big fan of the new style clutch bars. I sanded the sharp edges off both plates that are on either side of the clutch bar to keep them from scraping my thumb. The Fuego is...

I see they are calling the SLX MGL a 70. It must have a shallower spool compared to our SLX 150.

I think it is made by the same company that makes Bass Pro Shops reels. Is it Doyo? Look up the new Bionic Plus reel. Looks the same to me.

Daiwa Japan website lists that all new Steez CT reels have 80mm handles. :(
