Re: Kistler Rods Pricing
IMO he had a good niche being USA made. My biggest gripe was the very plain cork and eva handles. He should have stayed USA made and improved the handle builds with carbon grips and some color. The KLX for $150 on sale with an NFC blank was cool. Once you go over $200 it hard to justify the boring c...

Re: New Zillion Rods
Daiwa missing the mark again for me...boring, expride copy, no JDM flair. It couldn't be more bland and uninspired.
With all the amazing real seats Daiwa has that one looks incredibly uncomfortable. Might as well use an ACS.
Bummed as I have both the previous models.

Looks like the hood cover is longer and the line guide is taller/shorter.

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?
St. Croix - never held one that felt good in hand. Tip heavy as all hell. The actions were too powerful/weak, and the looks are God awful. The new victory looked good on paper, drove to the shop, picked them up and was so unimpressed. Balance is so bad. I don't get the Dobyn hate. Especially when th...

Re: Anyone have any recent experiences with NFC?
I've had my ups and downs with NFC and Edge. They are a unique company dealing direct to consumer. They do have some Customer Service issues but have always got is sorted. Time tables are not good when dealing with NFC. Alex has really done a great job improving the buying process. You have to reali...

Re: Daiwa Tatula 7'3" Swimbait rod users
Buddy has this rod and I have fished it. It is super tight in hand and feels awesome to fish for long periods of time. The 4oz rating is wildly high. It is more like 2.5oz and so you should be right in the sweet spot. I threw Freestyle Mag on it and it was money. Threw a glide and it handled that ev...

Re: 2021 Daiwa Zillion SV TW
I have to stop. Flip the reel over. Make an adjustment. Cast. Life is so difficult  For me in a cover orientated target rich environment passing by docks with pillars and openings presenting themselves to me as I scan my head searching for targets its a big deal to be able to lock eyes with th...

Re: Megabass Destroyer P5 decision help
Note, if you've never held the P5s be a little cautious if you have big hands. The reel seat, grip, and butt caps, are TINY! I see why they are so light, the used no material haha. Seriously awesome blanks, but I didn't like the components used. The buttcap on all but the Baccarat is the size of a ....

Tackle Storage - In house VS garage
Hey there! I'm looking to free up closet space and move things to the garage. New truck doesn't fit so I have new space. That said, I'm afraid of storing expensive had baits, plastics, rods, and reels in there year round. I'm in CO and see both -5 and 100+ through the year. Any issues I would have? ...

Re: Battle damage
As long as there is not damage to the blank, it is an easy fix. There is a guy iny club that would match the thread wraps for $20ish per guide.

Re: Help diagnosing SV 103 issues
I have 9 SV103s and have experienced the exact thing to you are talking about on my frog reel. I think it was the shaft bearings. I ended up soaking the and cleaning the anti-reverse and shaft bearing. Took care of my issue. I've had mine for so long I'm considering ordering all new frame bearings a...

Re: Moving to lighter gear due to injury?
I'm 3 weeks away from the water due to injury and the itch is killing me. I'm battling tennis elbow and pinched nerves. Having issues just holding a rod. The Mexico story reminds me of myself. I love to throw frogs, flip, and big swimbaits. The last few years have really taken a toll on my body. I d...
