Re: Daiwa Steez 103HL

I have a RCS 1016 spool in mine and am really happy with it. It casts 1/4 oz. Pop R's as well as the og 103 spool without the worry. Have not tried a ZPI spool so I can't compare.

Re: Casting + Internal Damage

Does anyone have an extra handle nut wrench for a Daiwa Z200/Z2020, (or any daiwa, if universal) that they would be welling to give away? I just noticed I dont have on in the box. Maybe this will save me a phone call to Daiwa. Thanks! I use metric socket wrench with 10mm and 12mm sockets. Should co...

Re: What have you gotten back fishing?

Once had three rods and reels fly off the deck when we hit a big wave, caught all three in one hand one between each finger. I would not have been able to replace them at that time.

Re: Fishing ole classics

Still fishing with non TWS Daiwas: Multiple Alpha's, Zillions, Steezs, and TDZ's variants. May buy an Steez TWS someday, but I will never buy a reel not made in Japan. I feel the same way, I feel Daiwa and Shimano takes great pride in the Japanese built reels. How great is the the Alphas platform s...

Re: Round reel love?

My first baitcaster was a Ambassadeur 5000 in the 70's. The 5000c was a major improvement. Fell in love with the 2500Cs. In the 80's moved on to Daiwa reel with the magnets. Currently got my first monoblock , my first round reel in 40 years. Wow, not your grandfather's round reel. :D

Re: Your 3 go to/favorite baits, and three you hate?

Do you guys "hate" these baits because they don;t work for you or you simply have little experience with them? This is the 1st thing that's made sense to me the entire thread lol I mean people hating jigs? That means to me they likely don't know how to fish them because they surely are one of the m...

Re: How much line to put on UL spool?

I put just enough mono just keep the braid from slipping. When the braid needs changing I just take it off and put it back on the reel with the old end first. I get twice the use on the line and don't have to deal with backing or the extra knot.

If you're using HiVis braid you can see your lack line jump. I don't have much lack line either, except for flutes. Bass seem to hold on to them lack line or not. Lack line not a problem for me.
Always watch the line. HiVis or regular.
Just a little easier to see HiVis than fluoro.
